Firmware Instructions

Firmware is the version of software the printer has installed internally. To function properly, Sawgrass solutions must be compatible with printer firmware. Capturing the firmware during registration allows us to track any new releases and ensure our products maintain their compatibility.

The firmware version is printed on the nozzle check test pattern for current Epson models: Workforce 30, Workforce 7010, B1100, T1100, T1110, 1430 and 1500W and discontinued Workforce 1100, T30, B40W, 1400, 1410, R1900, C88, C110, D120, 1280/1290 and R800/R1800.  With ink and paper installed in the printer, print a nozzle check by one of three methods:

1. From the Maintenance tab within the Epson OEM driver.


2. From the Utilities section of the Sawgrass PowerDriver or ChromaBlast Driver.


3. From the printer panel following these steps.

• Power off the printer and unplug the USB cord.
• While holding down the paper button, press and hold the power button until the green light starts to flash (approximately 3 seconds).
• Release both buttons, and a nozzle check will automatically print.

To display the firmware version on the screen of the Epson 7890/9890 and discontinued Epson 7700/9700, 4880, 4800, 4000, MS-One and Direct Advantage printers follow these steps:

1. Press the Menu/Right Arrow button.
2. Press the Down Arrow button until "Printer Status" is displayed on the printer's LCD screen.
3. Press the Menu/Right Arrow button two times. "Version" is displayed.
4. To exit, press the Left Arrow button three times.

To display the firmware version on the screen of the Ricoh SG3110DN, SG7100DN, GXe7700N, GXe3300N, GX7000 or GX5050, follow these steps:

1. With the printer powered on, press and hold both the up and down arrow buttons simultaneously for at least 3 to 5 seconds.


2. Release the arrow buttons and immediately press the #Enter button. The version is displayed on the printer's LCD screen.


3. To exit, press the down arrow twice until "End" is displayed, then press the #Enter button.

To display the firmware version on the screen of the Epson SC-T3000, SC-T5000 or SC-T7000, follow these steps:

1. Press to the Setup Menu (last icon on the right)


2. Press OK


3. Press to "Printer Status"


4. Press OK


5. Highlighted will be "Firmware Version"


6. Press OK for the version
